NC State loses to Clemson, 74-70

This is probably a basketball game NC State should have won. Clemson was the toughest opponent in the Pack he has faced so far, and a road loss for such a team is not an issue to watch out for too far. A good team won a close home game as it should be, but it leaves you with a bitter taste in your mouth knowing it was there for the take, and NC State simply passed.

The Pack was electric in the first half. He got good guard play, shot all three well and took a 39-32 lead into the break. Clemson were decidedly the most stranded team in the second half, but the field, largely on the free throw line, were able to weather this storm and hold on to a single-digit lead up to the last minute, when it melted. on his last two offensive possessions with a chance to salt the game.

Up to three, DJ Funderburk took a ridiculous mid-range shot and the ensuing streak resulted in Nick Honor, the Clemson Guardian and Marvel Universe B-List character, tying the game at 62 with a triple. On the next possession, Devon Daniels threw a terrible pass to the wrong team.

Daniels was good for most of the game and Funderburk was huge in the second half as well. This game certainly doesn’t fall on them on those two bad streaks, but in general, State needed to come together more to close this one. He played loose and confident most of the night, but tightened up when the critical moment came.

Thanks to Shakeel Moore stopping an isolation play on the buzzer, the Pack were able to force overtime, but a silly rebound on a hook shot from Clemson with 10 seconds left sealed the game. That shot wasn’t even close, it bounced like three feet over the edge and then just passed. If you don’t deserve to win, the universe will let you know, I guess.

There is nothing to fear here. The condition is pretty good. It’s definitely an NCAA tournament team. Clemson is very good, and State, still down on a man, outshone the Tigers on their floor for much of the night. Littlejohn is a place NC State is known for not showing up at all, but they were the best team for much of the game, but not enough. So, how are you.
