With the first four games of the NCAA Tournament and the real fun that begins Thursday, university basketball experts from all networks share their predictions as to what they think will happen during Big Dance.
For most forecasts, they are the same teams but with varying results. The Kentucky Wildcats are at least eight elite and there are many predictions that they would beat the North Carolina Tar Heels to reach the Final Four.
There is a good chance that Kentucky will face either the Tennessee Volunteers or the Virginia Riders in the Final Four, then the Duke Blue Devils in the title match if the Cats are so successful.

- Jay Williams: Kentucky beats North Carolina in the Elite 8, Tennessee in the Final Four and the Duke in the final game to win their 9th National Championship title.
- Seth Greenberg: Kentucky beats North Carolina in the Elite Eight and Virginia in the Final Four, but loses against Duke at the National Championship.
- Jay Bilas: Kentucky loses against North Carolina in the Elite Eight.
- Rece Davis: Kentucky loses against North Carolina in the Elite Eight.
- Seth Davis defeated North Carolina in North Carolina in the Elite 8, Purdue in the Final Four and lost to Duke in the title game.
- Mike DeCourcy: Kentucky loses against Duke in the title game.
- Joe Lunardi: Kentucky loses against North Carolina in the Elite Eight.
- Andy Katz: Kentucky loses against North Carolina in the Elite Eight.
- Jeff Goodman: Kentucky beat Kansas in the Elite 8, but lost to Virginia in the Final Four.
- Jerry Palm defeated North Carolina in Kentucky to qualify for the Final Four but lost to Tennessee in the Final Four.
- FiveThirtyEight gives Kentucky a 47% chance to be in the Elite Eight, 24% to win the Final Four, 11% to win the title and 5% to win everything.
That says a lot about Kentucky going to the Elite Eight all these experts, a tour further than last year. Bilas, Davis, Lunardi and Katz all have Kentucky lost there against North Carolina. The Tar Heels are a much improved team since the Wildcats saw them for the last time earlier this year, but I'm sure nothing would be easier for BBN than to beat Roy Williams's side and end the game. Jeff Goodman is the only one who opposed the Wildcats to a team other than UNC. Goodman makes us play Kansas, a team below the average of Bill Self that Kentucky has already beaten this season. What's intriguing is that our regional final will be held in Kansas City, which would give the Jawhawks a decisive advantage.
Dickie V. has the United Kingdom in the Final Four, but loses against Tennessee for the third time. It's not out of the game, but the Volunteers might have a hard time getting to the second weekend, not to mention the Final Four and how their matches might unfold. Goodman defeated Kansas by Kentucky, but lost to Virginia in his first match in Minneapolis. Virginia is a powerful defensive group that can fire and share the ball, but the United Kingdom would have a distinctive advantage on the pitch. The Cavaliers have always found a way to ruin everything before the national semifinals, but they are the most likely scenario if the range remains true.
Seth Greenberg and Jay Williams are both expecting the best of Kentucky, as both have a place in their national championship game against Duke. Greenberg loses the United Kingdom while Williams wins.
After defeating 34 points against the Blue Devils in the Champions Classic to start the year, some fans would wonder why we would not want to see them again. The Wildcats are a well-rounded team on both sides of the ball and with Duke's struggling to pull the ball, it could very easily be their fall.
If coming out with Luke Maye would be amazing, then going out with Zion at the national championship and seeing how the first game would go would be the icing on the cake for their 9th national championship. The only negative is that Jay Williams has struggled to make the right choices throughout the season at GameDay College, but Big Blue Nation will take what he can get.
Regardless of the match, no matter where he is or who he is fighting against, Kentucky has become a legitimate competitor.
With its improved defense and ability to shoot, Kentucky has come into shape at the right time and poses a real threat not only to the Commonwealth, but also to the experts.
