The Marvel Punisher was canceled after two seasons and Jessica Jones will be canceled after the third.

Deadline announced the news of The Punisher's cancellation: "The Marvel Punisher will not be coming back for a third season on Netflix. Showrunner Steve Lightfoot, his fantastic team and his outstanding cast, including star Jon Bernthal, presented a hugely popular and convincing series for fans. We are proud to present their work on Netflix for years to come. "

Netflix also cancels Jessica Jones after her third season to come: "In addition, when revising our Marvel lineup, we decided that the third season would also be the last season for Jessica Jones. We are grateful to show star Melissa Rosenberg, star Krysten Ritter and all of the cast and crew for three incredible seasons in this groundbreaking series, which has been recognized with many other Peabody Awards. "

"We thank Marvel for its five years of successful partnership and thank the passionate fans who have been following this series since the beginning."

Marvel's Jeph Loeb also commented on the cancellations in a letter to the fans: "On behalf of everyone at Marvel Television, we could not be more proud or grateful to our audience." Our network partner may have decided not to go on telling the story of these great characters … but you know Marvel better than that. "As one day Matthew Murdock's father once said:" The measure of a man does not mean getting hit on the carpet, but getting up. "

The puncher himself, Jon Bernthal, went to Instagram to say goodbye to Frank Castle, saying: "To all who have served, all who know how to lose, all who love and understand Frank and his pain It was an honor to walk like a madman I am so grateful to the fans of comics and the men and women of the armed forces and the police force whom Frank cares so much about. USMC and all the wonderful soldiers who trained me … Go hard, be safe. "

The Punisher and Jessica Jones follow the cancellations of Iron Fist, Luke Cage and Daredevil. The next Disney + streaming service will have its own Marvel TV shows, including a Loki show starring Tom Hiddleston and The Vision and Scarlet Witch.

While Disney acquires a larger share of Hulu in the Fox Acquisition, some of Marvel's more adult-oriented shows, such as Howard the Duck, M.O.D.O.K. and others will go to Hulu in the future. Hulu also wants to revive some of these canceled performances of Netflix Marvel, although nothing can be done before the merger.
