Activision Blizzard Inc. ATVI,

sues Netflix Inc. NFLX,
+ 0.16%
for allegedly poaching its former CFO and causing prejudice to competition, citing a model of behavior from the streaming giant.

In a lawsuit filed in Los Angeles Superior Court on Friday, the video game publishing company said Netflix illegally recruited Spencer Neumann in late 2018, causing a breach of contract that disrupted business operations. Activision said the move also cost it business opportunities as well as millions of dollars paid to retain other executives.

Neumann, who previously held roles at DIS from Walt Disney Co.,

and private equity firms, joined Activision as CFO in May 2017. The employment contract was initially for three years.

“Netflix has a clear tendency to only care about attracting and employing who wants Netflix, whether or not they break the law along the way,” the lawsuit says.

A Netflix spokesperson declined to comment on the lawsuit.
