For now, the most profitable film of the year in the world – perhaps until the release of "Captain Marvel" on March 8 – the epic sci-fi Chinese "The Wandering Earth" becomes a global courtesy of Netflix.
The story was written by the Hugo Award winner, Liu Cixin; his output in China is only behind "Wolf Warrior 2" as the second biggest biggest national player of all time.
Netflix, which has already shot the military action film "Wolf Warrior 2" for international online distribution, does the same for "The Wandering Earth", which has so far earned 4 billion yen (600 millions of dollars) in two weeks.
The film tells of humanity's efforts to avoid an extinction event: the sun began to swell, swelling so that the engulfing of the Earth was such that it had engulfed Earth.
