Netflix has begun testing a new feature called "Collections" that aims to facilitate the discovery of movies and TV shows.
Notably, although the usual Netflix recommendations are formulated using an algorithm that takes into account the history of the display, the collections are manually selected by humans.
Specifically, collections will group content according to a variety of factors including themes, gender, tone, intrigue, and character traits.
As spotted by Twitter user ItsJeffHiggins, some of the collections include "Let's Keep It Light", "Dark and Sneaky TV Series", "Choice of Award-Winning Movies" and "Women Leading the Screen".

It is not clear exactly how many types of Netflix collections are experimenting or in which countries it is testing. For what it's worth, neither me nor two of my colleagues have the functionality on our Netflix iOS apps.
"We're always looking for new ways to connect our fans to titles they'll like a lot, so we're testing a new way to categorize Netflix titles into collections in the Netflix iOS app," he says. said a Netflix spokesperson. TechCrunch. "Our tests generally vary according to the length of time and the countries in which they occur, and they may or may not become permanent elements of our service."
