Samsung has just launched The Galaxy S10 family of devices last week, and Netflix took note of it.
The company has downloaded its support page for Android devices to note the following:
New HD:
Samsung Galaxy S10, S10e, S10 +
Samsung M10 (SM-M105G, SM-M105M, SM-M105F, SM-M105Y)
Samsung M20 (SM-M205M, SM-M205F, SM-M205G, SM-M205FN)
Samsung M30 (SM-M305F, SM-M305FN, SM-M3050, SM-M305M)
HDR 10:
Samsung Galaxy S10, S10e, S10 +
New chipsets that generally support HD:
Qualcomm® Snapdragon ™ 675
Qualcomm® Snapdragon ™ 710
Qualcomm® Snapdragon ™ 855
With HDR 10 on Netflix, users will be able to take full advantage of the dynamic range of the Galaxy S10's display. In other words, you can watch Umbrella Academy or Altered Carbon Season 2 in more beautiful colors.
For the Galaxy M series, HDR support is not supported, but Netflix has distributed HD support as a nice consolation prize.
While Netflix normally supports the iPhone with all its best features at launch, its Android support is a bit more random. Of course, being Samsung means that it has always been a higher priority than others.
