You can play thousands of matches without having any idea what the story is, which further complicates things if you haven’t played the game at all. So to help everyone get up to speed before his animated series DOTA: Dragon’s Blood fate, Netflix released a new video which gives a basic introduction to the DOTA tradition.
The video features three prominent members of the Dota 2 community: Jake “SirActionSlacks” Kanner, Jorien “Sheever” van der Heijden and Owen “ODPixel” Davies. Everyone discusses some part of the game’s extended lore. They don’t cover all the details, but they give a big enough picture to help people prepare. Dragon blood.
The trio delve into the creation of the DOTA universe and some of the ancient events that go into how the game’s heroes became so powerful. They also explain why the game’s two factions, the Radiant and the Dire, are embroiled in eternal conflict, and how mythical gods and elements like chaos take physical forms in this world and roam various conflicts.
The story of DOTA: Dragon’s Blood will focus on Davion, the Dragon Knight, one of DOTA’s prominent heroes, and tell the story of his life before he joined the conflict between the Radiant and the Dire. The series premieres on Netflix on March 25.
