WhatsApp groups in which only administrators can send messages now available

In a blog post WhatsApp announced their new feature. Here you can define that only group administrators can send messages to a group. This is useful for schools or other groups in which only ads are made.

Last November, we wrote for the first time a function in WhatsApp where only group managers could send messages to a group. It was then still screenshots and there was still no indication when this function would be available. Now, more than six months later, it's time.

WhatsApp explained in a blog post that he is working more and more on groups. For example, several features have recently been added, such as managing who can change the description and the group icon or see which messages are sent to you quickly via @.

Now an option is added where only group administrators can send messages to a group. This can be useful for groups to receive communications, such as announcements or important information. Think of teachers at school, neighborhood groups, etc. WhatsApp also provides such an example in the image below.

Availability

WhatsApp now deployed globally in all supported versions, so you are not tied to the WhatApp beta or the regular version, it also seems that no update to the current version. Specific application is needed, but that WhatsApp remotely activates the feature itself. option has not yet appeared, so there is still a question of waiting, although it can never hurt to update the application.
