I met a black couple in Charleston in 2015, a day after the racist massacre of Mother Emanuel. They had accidentally adopted a white child, and the family knows better than anyone what is the meaning of racism and hypocrisy in America. I always have a contact with them. They helped me to probe America.

This topic had the biggest personal impact on me. I wanted to report on the death penalty, and arranged that I could be at Clayton Lockett's execution. In retrospect, I do not know if it was right or wrong: the execution lasted nearly three quarters of an hour and led to a de facto moratorium on executions.
