Microsoft has been working on a new mysterious surface device for at least two years. This would come out of an internal Microsoft document obtained by The Verge. According to the site, it will be a Pocket Surface device, similar to previous rumors on the foldable surface phone.
Microsoft pocket-sized
The Redmond company considers the project Andromeda as a "new and disruptive" project category of products that will affect the overall roadmap of the Surface and blur the boundaries between what is considered a PC and a mobile. The device, which we have until here called the surface phone, is still developed in secret and has a screen that extends over two halves. They are separated by a hinge and in the unfolded state there would be no gap between the two halves of the screen.
According to the website, the prototypes correspond to the concept created last year by designer David Breyer on the basis of rumors on the Surface Phone and the project Andromeda

Consider adding a holder for a stylus so that the device can be unfolded as a book and a pen can be considered used for taking notes. Microsoft is also experimenting with ARM processors under the hood of the prototypes, but it is not clear whether the company is opting for Intel (x86) or Qualcomm (ARM). Sources familiar with Andromeda also warn that Microsoft may at any time decide to withdraw the plug from the project
The device should appear this year, while other OEMs will come with similar products at a later date . Older rumors have suggested that the device has the ability to make calls and receive and send text messages. A reference to Andromeda OS has recently been found in the source code of the Windows 10 Miami Street racing game. The operating system supports x86 and ARM, which corresponds to this new report.
