Utrechts Uitfeest will be a two-day festival

For the first time, on September 15 and 16, Utrecht is dominated by the opening of the cultural season. In this new interpretation of the Uitfeest more than 100 locations of open house programs will be the focus of debate on Saturday. The Sunday program is organized by the music, literature, film and media, visual arts and theater and dance sectors and is held in five locations.

The day is officially open at 13:00 on the Jaarbeursplein with What is the city but the people? a BAK project, Basis for Contemporary Art in collaboration with SPRING and Centraal Museum. On the square, there will be a large footbridge on which 150 Utrechters will form the self-portrait of the city. It is also the official opening of the Jaarbeursplein. In the center and in the neighborhoods, there is an open program for young and old, where the visitor can enjoy various performances or even participate. During the Uitfeest there are several creative breeding places to visit, from which you can experience everything from morning till night. Rotsoord, Vechtclub XL, De Stadstuin, De Creator, Kanaal30, Lou Oudenoord, RAUM and De Nijverheid each present a program with (musical) performances, workshops, guided tours, pitches, exhibitions and delicious cuisine in a friendly atmosphere. of festival. The second day of the Uitfeest five disciplines present themselves in a joint program. TivoliVredenburg presents a jazz program with performances by the Young Jazz Society, the Utrecht Jazz Archipelago and the Board of Directors. In the same place, the Utrecht Library and Het Literatuurhuis open the season of books with children's stories, book presentations and writers interviews. A little further, the first official market of the book of Utrecht takes place on Vredenburgplein. In the Winkel van Sinkel, (digital) media are presented with lectures, a virtual reality laboratory and facilities such as FOTODOK and SETUP. On the Neude, no less than twelve galleries and exhibition spaces are exhibited in a village of specially designed maritime containers with sculptures and shows. The Utrecht theaters and the theater and dance companies offer an extensive program for the young and old at Stadsschouwburg Utrecht and Lucasbolwerk. At the end of the day, Uitfeest will be closed with the open air cinema at Weerdsluis in cooperation with the Dutch Film Festival, IMPAKT and Pathé.
