What will be the minimum download and download rate, which will be studied in the coming months. The results will be published in the Mobile Communications Memorandum, writes State Secretary Mona Keijzer (Economic Affairs) Wednesday in a letter to the House of Representatives (pdf)

The Digital Connectivity Action Plan is a plan for fixed and mobile infrastructure. It states that at 98% of the area of each municipality in the Netherlands, the coverage must be reached with a minimum flow.

The conditions apply to the new frequencies: 700 MHz, 1400 MHz and 2100 MHz frequencies. According to the government, they are issued "in principle for twenty years."

Another important frequency for the deployment of 5G is the 3.5 GHz band. This is currently used by intelligence services to spy on, which the AIVD and MIVD still want to do at least until 2022.

Keijzer said earlier that the use of tape 3.5 GHz will be evaluated this year. A decision will be made at the end of the year.
