Typo error caused strange AI behavior in Aliens: Colonial Marines – Gaming – .Geeks

Aliens: Colonial Marines was a game like many other movie-based games: a moderate money grab with some references to movies, which was soon forgotten. Many players complained of AI bugs, but they proved years later to have a simple typo.

The cast in question was discovered last year by a mud that was intended to make the game a little less disappointing. A ResetEra user has once again brought to light, now that there is an offer where the game can be bought for three euros.

The bug consists of a typo in the configuration file called PecanEngine.ini . This contains a line of code with the following text:
ClassRemapping = PecanGame.PecanSeqAct_AttachXenoToTether -> PecanGame.PecanSeqAct_ AttachPawnToTeather

You only need a little bit of English for to be able to see this last wrong word is spelled and it should actually be Tether . By solving this typographical error, the enemies are suddenly much less valiant in the world and they attack the player from different angles. It turns out that because of the typo the enemies in the game do not use a piece of code that allows them to tactically run and use their environment for attack the player.

PCGamer has made some videos in which the game with and without typo is played. The publisher says that he actually finds the opponents harder to beat, but they still do not think he's smart.

In addition to typing error, TemparGFX has also implemented many other changes in the game. The result can be downloaded from the Mod DB website. Fortunately, many of the points of attention that Tweakers gave in his review are solved
