British Novitsjok victim leaves hospital – NRC

A Briton who has recently suffered serious injuries after being exposed to a dangerous nerve gas can leave the hospital. The Salisbury District Hospital speaks of a "milestone" and writes in a statement that 45-year-old victim Charlie Rowley "has experienced a terrible experience that most of us can not imagine".

Rowley was found unconscious three weeks ago in the Salisbury area with partner Dawn Sturgess. According to British police, it turned out later that they had been poisoned by Novitsjok, now infamous neurotoxic gas, which was found in a bottle in their home. Sturgess died in the hospital. It's not clear how the stuff ended up in their house.

Earlier this year, the former Russian double spy Sergej Skripal and his daughter were also poisoned by Novitsjok. The nerve gas was produced in the Soviet Union, and London accused Moscow of being behind the attack. The Kremlin has always denied the allegations. In total, according to the hospital, five people in the Salisbury area were exposed to nerve gas.
