A French start-up called Tempow introduced a system that connects multiple bluetooth speakers to a TV for a surround sound system. The system should work with all bluetooth speakers.
With the system called Tempow Audio Profile TV, up to six speakers can be connected wirelessly for a 5.1 configuration, writes Engadget. According to SlowGear, Tempow makes the TAP TV suitable for all manufacturers who want to integrate the system into their TVs, set-top boxes or media players.
Vincent Nallatamby, the director of Tempow, told Engadget that the company, to allow to send a signal to six speakers at the same time, the sound did not compress further that occurs normally. The company also kept latency to a minimum.
In addition to surround sound, Tempow also sees other applications for technology. For example, the sound can be sent in a language compared to ordinary speakers, while a connected headset receives a translation. Sound levels per speaker can also be controlled individually.
At present, no device is equipped with this technology. The company has already built a similar system in the Motorola Moto X4 smartphone. This unit can connect to multiple Bluetooth speakers at the same time and send them to the same signal. Later this year, the technology will be available on two other phones and Tempow is already talking to several TV manufacturers for them to broadcast TAP TV on their equipment.
