Since the arrival of the Samsung Galaxy S8, early last year, the difference between Samsung Galaxy S series devices and the Galaxy Note series has become very small. In terms of hardware and design, the Samsung Galaxy S8 (+) and the Galaxy Note 8 are very similar. In fact, the only real difference is the S-Pen Pen in the Samsung Galaxy Note 8. The Galaxy Note 8's display is also slightly larger.
This year promises the difference between the current Samsung Galaxy S9 (+) and the future Samsung Galaxy Note 9 is not going to be much bigger. Because the differences have become so small, according to sources, Samsung plans to add the Samsung Galaxy S series and Galaxy Note together. This would also save Samsung's development and production costs.
It's unclear how Samsung sees a merger. A merger could mean that from now on Samsung will present a normal Galaxy S smartphone early in the year and six months later, for example, a Galaxy S + model with a stylus. Another possibility is that in the future all Galaxy S models will receive an S-Pen Pen and (as now) will be introduced immediately at the beginning of the year.
