Without extension to Europe
Earlier this year, Mercedes-Benz introduced the Sedan Class A in China, a car that also arrives in Europe in a form not extended. [19659005] In April of this year, Mercedes-Benz in China pushed the A-Kasse L Sedan forward, a class A sedan version that, in addition to a new class CLA, gets a place in the Chinese Mercedes showroom. The class A sedan also arrives in Europe without L in its name and it's the non-extended sedan from which Mercedes-Benz now shows a set of teasers.
The Chinese A-class Sedan L is 4.6 meters long and has a wheelbase of 2.89 meters. This shorter European version has just the wheelbase of 2.73 meters long already known hatchback. According to Mercedes-Benz, the Cw value of the A sedan is 0.22, lower than the 0.25 of its hatchback brother. Indeed, according to Mercedes-Benz, the coefficient of air resistance of the sedan A is lower than that of any other production car in the world.
Mercedes-Benz announces that it will build the new A sedan for the European market in Rastatt, Germany. The car will also be produced in Mexico (Aguascalientes). We are still waiting for a disclosure this year.
