Porsche unveiled the new Macan in Shanghai. The compact SUV has been a success since its launch in 2014 and has been further enhanced in terms of design, comfort, connectivity and driving dynamics, making it a flagship sports car at the top of its segment.

Due to a number of subtle changes to its exterior, the new Macan looks even sportier and more modern. For example, it is now equipped with standard LED headlights and taillights. As an option, the Porsche Dynamic Light Plus (PDLS Plus) system automatically adjusts the light distribution according to the situation. The typical Porsche elements at the rear are the three-dimensional LED strip and the brake lights in the four-point design. The new exterior colors are Mia blue, Mama green metallic, Dolomite silver metallic and Chalk.

GT sports steering wheel, ionizer and traffic jams

Inside, the connection between the 911 and the Macan is enhanced by the optional GT sport steering wheel. The integrated Sport Response button and the Driving Mode Change button are part of the optional Sports Chrono group. New comfort options come in the form of a heated windshield and an ionizer that improves the quality of the air in the interior. Macan's range of support systems has been extended with the help of files, which speeds up and decelerates automatically, but can also drive partly into traffic jams or in slow traffic.

Complete connectivity and 11-inch touch screen

The Full HD touch screen of the Macan center console has been increased from 7 to 11 inches. The air conditioning outlets have been redesigned and are now placed under the screen. Each Macan is equipped with the Connect Plus module for complete connectivity. This adds real-time traffic information to the standard online navigation system and the ability to control the Macan with voice commands.

One of the most important elements of Connect Plus is the Here Cloud connection, which works with "swarm data". This means that the Macan receives information on the traffic and road conditions of cars with the same functionality. With the new Offroad Precision application, it is possible to store and analyze terrain displacements.

Improved chassis with new tires and rims

The Macan is still the sports car among compact SUVs, thanks to its improved chassis. Porsche mounts wider tires on the rear axle, allowing the Macan to make the most of its intelligent all-wheel drive Porsche Traction Management (PTM). Newly developed tires also provide more dynamics in the corners. They concern new wheels of 20 or 21 inches.
