HipChat and Stride stop it. The company behind the two business communication applications will partner with competitor Slack.

Slack CEO Stewart Butterfield announces on Twitter that his company is entering into a partnership (not a recovery) with Atlassian. It takes the intellectual property of HipChat and Stride to enhance the user experience in Slack, and to optimally support users who want to switch to Slack.

This is a nice expression to say that Slack also the users of HipChat and Stride hope to seduce because both services will be removed from February 15, 2019. Atlassian employees will move anyway to Slack. Hipchat belongs to Atlassian since 2012.

The Vice President of Atlassian Product Management speaks in a blog post of a "Strategic Collaboration" and says that his company is investing in Slack. The exact amounts are not mentioned, but that means that Slack is buying two competitors in the market and the owner of those competitors now owns some of Slack.

Techcrunch notes that other Atlassian products such as Bitbucket, Trello and Jira probably continue to exist.
