Johnny de Mol has a child, a wife and a house in Blaricum at the 39-year age. But this is not the only thing that runs through his heart, he is more than one hundred percent engaged in the movement on the ground.
De Volkskrant interviewed with him and other people involved.
Volunteer Work
When Johnny and his friend Adil Izemrane booked a holiday in Ibiza in 2015, shame came when they drowned the photo. See the Syrian toddler Alan Kurdi on the beach. They canceled Ibiza and went together to Lesbos. Later, Johnny, Adil and others of their acquaintances provided tents, street lights and fan heaters to the camps. What is the success behind Movement On The Ground ? They do not call "refugee" but "resident": resident. And that's what they feel.
Not unnoticed
"If you kill people like animals, some become animals," Izemrane told the newspaper. "But if you invest in a healthy, clean and orderly environment, many people will behave accordingly and a community will emerge."
