The Breda NAC finally succeeded on Sunday again in Eredivisie. After six consecutive defeats, Breda club played the derby against Willem II tied for 2-2.
Halfway, Willem II led 1-2. Thomas Meissner and Donis Avdijaj canceled the opening goal of NAC striker Mitchell in Vrede. In the second half, Mikhail Rosheuvel inflicted a penalty on the home team.
Following this tie, NAC avoided a negative record of eight consecutive defeats against all leagues. In addition to the six Eredivisie defeats, the Breda club lost in the first round of the KNVB-cup 2-0 to RKC Waalwijk.
By the way, the NAC takes the last place at FC Groningen, which will travel later on Sunday with 4-1 lost to Heracles Almelo. Both clubs have four points, but the Groningers have a worse goal difference (-14 to -13). Willem II has ten points and is in the middle.
Prime Minister Rutte in the stands of Breda
The spectator on strike at the derby was Mark Rutte, sitting in the stands with an NAC headscarf at Rat Verlegh Stadium. The prime minister saw the local team start very tightly against his rival Tilburg, but no serious chances came up.
In the 28th minute, NAC had only the first good opportunity, but was immediately struck. Mounir El Alllouchi broke through on the left, then Te Vrede scored the center of the center player (1-0). Moments later, Te Vrede had a good chance, but this time he shot in the lead.
After 35 minutes, the situation was the same. Willem II defenseman Thomas Meissner fired point-blank (1-1) at Daniel Crowley's request, while the NAC's defense was unsatisfactory. Defender Jurich Carolina has not covered Meissner.
Even before the break, the situation was even better for Willem II. Avdijaj scored on a pass from Damil Dankerlui, who, from Crowley, gave the ball a shot. The completion of Kosovar was perhaps even better. He shot the ball immediately in the top corner (1-2).
In the second half, Eredivisie's seventh defeat for NAC appeared until Willem II's midfielder Pol Llonch struck Rosheuvel. Rosheuvel himself went behind the ball and did not fail (2-2). So Willem II had some chances to win again. Fran Sol even scored, but referee Serdar Gözübüyük was right to dismiss the goal for offside.
