The Indonesian airline Lion Air has maintained tomorrow with a delegation of aircraft manufacturer Boeing. They will see what was wrong when a Lion Air aircraft crashed yesterday in the Java Sea. In the accident, 189 people were killed.
De Boeing left Jakarta and headed for Pangkal Pinang on Banka Island. It is a flight of more than one hour.
After 13 minutes, the flight JT-610 disappeared from the radar. The pilots had asked shortly after their departure if they could return to Jakarta airport. There would have been a technical problem. The plane was still practically new.
Defects
Passengers who had piloted the crash system in previous days said that technical faults were already present at the time. For example, a Boeing engine would have made a strange noise.
Lion Air asks for clarification from the American aircraft manufacturer. The Indonesian company is one of Boeing's biggest customers; in April, dozens of new aircraft were ordered. Lion Air now wants a thorough investigation before taking the new Boeing.
