Visser wins the 5,000 meters at Thialf with a beautiful power demonstration Now

Esmee Visser won the 5,000 meters Sunday at the World Cup qualifiers. The skater from TalentNED was impressed with a time of 6.50.64.

Visser sprayed the competition, Jong's number two Antoinette was seven seconds behind her (6.57.66).

Melissa Wijfje (6.58, 80), Carien Kleibeuker (7.02.29) and Reina Anema (7.03.57) complete the top 5.

The top five will be able to travel to Poland, Tomaszów Mazowiecki, where Only 5 km are planned. this season will be held at the World Cup.

Among others Imke Vormeer (7.08.58), Roza Blokker (7.11.70), Ineke Dedden (7.15.32), Irene Schouten (7.16.70) and Esther Kiel (19.19.11) grabbed a ticket.

A few tenths more than her personal best

Visser is just a few tenths of a second longer than her personal best of 6.50.23, making her a surprising Olympic champion in Pyeongchang in February. The only 22-year-old South Holland was the third time in its 5,000-meter history at Tialf. Only Czech Martina Sáblíková (6.49.31) and Germany's Stephanie Beckert (6.53.36) were once faster in the past.

Visser was well on her way to breaking Sáblíková's record at her favorite distance, but in the final phase, she had to confess this program a bit too much.
