Sustainability Now Often Punished

Interest Rate Reduction
Customers who wish to benefit from a (modest) discount on interest at ASN, must borrow at least 2,500 euros for sustainable investments and a maximum of 15,000 euros.
Interest on the whole loan then dropped by 0.1%, says a spokesman for the bank. It does not matter if you borrow EUR 2,500 or EUR 15,000 in full.
Symbolic
The Vereniging Eigen Huis (VEH) thinks that this is "positive", but at the same time calls for the reduction of the "symbolic" interest rate. "I do not know if the interest discount makes mortgage credit interesting, I do not know," said VEH spokesman Hans André de la Porte.

Triodos does it too
ASN is not entirely unique with a mortgage that encourages sustainability. The "green" bank Triodos also offers something similar.
If you lend to Triodos for sustainability reasons, you pay half the interest you pay on that part of the loan on the remainder of your loan. In addition, Triodos combines the interest in the energy label of your home.
