Record Number of Deaths During a Forest Fire in Northern California

A violent forest fire in northern California is the deadliest in the history of the US state. The number of fire deaths near the city of Paradise has increased by 42 and 228 people are officially missing. The local authorities informed the Reuters news agency

The fire, still raging in the hills, has now covered nearly 50,000 hectares of ash. More than 7,100 homes and buildings were destroyed. Most of the paradise could not be saved by firefighters. Paradise is about three hundred kilometers northeast of San Francisco.

The most deadly fire in California to date has been Griffith Park in Los Angeles, where 29 people have lost their lives. A fire broke out last week in northern and southern California. US President Donald Trump has officially declared the state in a disaster zone.
