Google Health wants to develop artificial intelligence for doctors with DeepMind

Google will develop a tool with its DeepMind division that provides support to doctors and nurses. The DeepMind group will now be part of a larger health branch within Google.

DeepMind is a British company specializing in the development of artificial intelligence (AI) technology. The company was bought by Google in 2014 and became known to the public mainly because its software managed to beat the best players with the GO game. DeepMind has not been idle since then and a team at the company has developed a tool called Streams, which provides support to doctors and nurses. Streams help with signaling and signs of kidney failure.

DeepMind is now announcing that the feeds will be further developed in collaboration with Google Health, the new health branch of Google. DeepMind itself calls this milestone a milestone for British society. However, DeepMind indicates that the team working on Streams is still in the UK at the moment.
