Sony will not be at E3 in Los Angeles next June. This is the first time in the existence of the stock exchange, since 1995, that the Japanese company cancels its activities. Microsoft and Nintendo are coming.
Sony and the organizer of E3, ESA, both confirm that Sony will not participate in the fair. Sony does not really mention a reason in a statement in various media, including Polygon. "As the industry evolves, Sony is looking for creative ways to connect with the community, exploring new and known ways to connect with our community in 2019, and we look forward to sharing these projects."
The Japanese manufacturer announced on the first E3 in the 90s the price and the release of the first PlayStation. Since then, Sony has benefited from each of the 24 E3 grants. Next year will be the 25th Los Angeles Game Show.
Kotaku bet that Sony ignores the E3 to keep all its announcements about the unveiling of the "PlayStation 5" sometime after E3 or early 2020. Nintendo and many game publishers will be present at the show, such as Activision, Bethesda, Epic, Square Enix, Take-Two I and Ubisoft, says ESA.
