Mayor Ahmed Aboutaleb will publish next year a new collection containing a selection of his favorite poems. The collection will contain about a hundred poems, among which a number will be translated into Arabic.
The title of the collection of poems is not yet known. "I think about it, I think it will be a very stimulating title that will have something to do with reading," says the city administrator in the program Rijnmond NU .
This is not the first time that Aboutaleb offers an anthology. Previously, the favorite poems of Rotterdammer Jules Deelder by Aboutaleb were already gathered. He is also known as a lover of Arabic poetry, such as the work of the Syrian poet Adonis.
The next collection is mainly devoted to "beautiful summer evenings". "You can read poems with a glass of water or wine in your garden or on your chair, in front of an open window, and hear a fly here and there," says Aboutaleb.
The new package will be available in stores from June 2019.
