In a reaction, Tele2 says it is "optimistic" about the unconditional approval by Brussels. The Swedish company says it has not yet received a green light and stresses that the European Commission has time to do it until 30 November. The parent company of T-Mobile did not respond

This year, the committee opened an in-depth investigation into the merger, fearing that competition would be no longer sufficient after the transaction between the numbers 3 and 4 on the Dutch telecommunications market.

Brussels often asks companies wishing to merge parties to disinvest to counter these objections, but that would not be the case here. The European Commission is expected to deliver a final judgment on Friday.
