Problems at PostNL by Black Friday, parcels arrive later

[ad_1]

Anyone who ordered something on Black Friday or the following days may have noticed that you needed more time to receive your order.

Normally, 98% of parcels are delivered on time, PostNL admits that now a few percent is lower. Spokesperson Dagna Hoogkamer does not want to give an exact figure, but there are problems, that's clear.

Deterioration of the situation

"Even today and the rest of the week, Black Friday orders arrive." The problems can therefore last all week.

"Things do not seem to improve, they even seem to have gotten worse," she admits. The delays are ongoing, due to the huge amount of orders last weekend, which has far exceeded the expectations of the parcel deliveryman.

PostNL was ready to double the number of packages compared to normal. "We have already started this peak period in January, we are working longer and we are making a thousand more trips each day." This turns out to be insufficient.

Figures from the Dutch Payments Association show that the Dutch took their bank card 58 million times in four days for a purchase, including 10 million via iDeal. The payment club has calculated that the online business figure has risen to more than 845 million euros.

Distribution

The parcel delivery guy says he's ready for the upcoming holidays: Santa Claus and Christmas. In order to avoid such problems now, PostNL keeps in touch with online shops, to cope with peaks and spread control moments as much as possible. The arrival of action days like Black Friday, Cyber Monday and Singles Day does not really help PostNL.

Hoogkamer advises consumers to be patient and to follow the evolution of the situation.
