The Education Inspectorate considers VMBO Maastricht a "very weak school", according to an inspection report released Wednesday Trouw
The "a very weak school" stamp is the most down that the inspection of a school can fall.
According to Trouw the report states that the school council must develop a plan of action. It should state how the quality of the school will be improved within a year. If school management does not succeed within one year, then school funding may be suspended.
The Inspectorate reports that students are poorly supervised. In addition, the school administration should make more effort to make students feel safer and to have fewer lessons. However, the level of lessons would be good and students would receive clear explanations.
Hundreds of VMBO Maastricht students had to take another exam after it turned out that it was missing parts of the school exam.
André Postema, Chairman of the Board of Directors Voortgezet Onderwijs (LVO), Stichting Limburgs, got up because of the problems. At first, he wanted to stay.
