Anyone who will soon enter Brug, De Poele or Peperstraat, in Groningen's city center, will be fined 100%. The municipality of Groningen uses cameras to prevent the illegal entry of motorized vehicles.
In the city center, window hours apply. In some sections, motorized traffic can only arrive between 05h00 and 12h00. But in no way does everyone stick to that and it is a backbone for entrepreneurs and the municipality.
That's why this test has been put in place. From December 3, the municipality will monitor the window hours with cameras. Offenders will receive a warning, but as of January 15, 2019, offenders will be fined immediately.
Scooters and mopeds also use bobbin
In the pedestrian zone of Poele and Peperstraat, the cameras also monitor scooters and mopeds using an illegal shortcut. Then an evaluation follows. The project was created by the municipality and is supported by entrepreneurs from the city.
Exemption
Certain vehicles are allowed to enter the city outside window hours. They must have an exemption for that.
