Recently, a new vulnerability was discovered by a group of academics. They claim that, among other things, all Android phones released in 2012 are vulnerable. The name of the vulnerability is RAMpage and it is a new variant of a Rowhammer attack. A Rowhammer attack is a vulnerability that exploits dram in a system. RAMpage was discovered by a group of eight academics from various universities

According to the published document, the vulnerability could potentially give access to: passwords stored in a password manager or browser, photos, emails and instant messages. ] RAMpage operates the ION subsystem in Android. This is the memory allocation driver used since Android 4.0. It is also expected that other devices will be vulnerable to this vulnerability, such as iOS phones and desktops.
