The art work "Museum of the Moon" by Brit Luke Jerram, representing a replica of the moon of a diameter of seven meters, is missing. The work was to be admired at the Ghent Festival of Light earlier this year and became one of the crowd shooters.

The artist has himself announced the disappearance via Twitter. According to Jerram, the artwork disappeared during the transport of the British Bristol to Austria. TNT messaging service was responsible for the transportation.

To create the artwork, the artist is based on satellite images of NASA. Each inch equals five kilometers of lunar surface. The replica was already on display at various events in Europe, including the Ghent Light Festival, and was booked at even more locations this summer.

TNT has since admitted that it's no longer Jerram's moon. The company is conducting a thorough investigation. Jerram is now calling for the help of the general public, under the hashtag #findthemoon
