A student dies at a dinner at the university

In England, the family of a deceased student complains at the university because she died during a campus food competition. Caitlin Nelson, 20, died from choking because of a large amount of food in his throat.

In March 2017, Nelson participated in a food contest at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, Connecticut. Although the police and the ambulance were quickly on site, they could not say anything more for the student. The British Metro wrote that the amount of pancakes in his mouth formed a thick, concrete-like paste. An autopsy of the body taught her that she had died of suffocation.

Her mother, Roseanne Nelson, wants to warn others by pursuing the university. According to his lawyer, competitions to eat are more dangerous than people realize. "It is essential that educational institutions understand in particular that some foods are safer than others, so a bit of thinking can literally save lives."
