Residents of Belgian Limburg can make payments in the spring of 2019 with the LimbU, a new electronic money platform of Belfius Bank and the Uitmuntend Limburg Association. Digital currency can be won by participating in positive actions for the community.

The population of Belgian Limburg can earn LimbU coins, for example by cleaning garbage, donating clothes or donating blood. These are actions in the context of sustainability and community spirit. The coins have a value of one euro and can be spent, among others, at local dealers, museums, swimming pools and restaurants.

The LimbU has existed since the beginning of 2018 as a system of savings and reward, but the creators had digital currency for the eyes.
