Because the dust of the stars was a little too much, two unique versions of the BMW i3 and i8 were painted in 24-carat gold. Not because a rich Arab wants it, but for a good cause.
BMW Czech Republic thought it was a very good idea to give both an i3 and an i8 a golden layer. True gold because in the special painting is processed 24 carats. The front of both cars is gold, but towards the back the gold goes black. The idea is to imitate a starry sky. Both one-off have also been named Starlight Editions. 
Koning Midas
Throwing gold tokens into a paint bucket was not included. Gold was applied to cars in four layers, the last one at hand. In addition, two coats of varnish seem to have been used to create a very deep luster. The Midas King would become almost jealous 
Starlight Edition
Inside, the gold lacquer decorated the door sills and you can read on a special plaque that it is the only one. "STARLIGHT one of one" edition. Both cars will soon be auctioned for charity, so if you have money – or gold bullion – we are gone!
