They were about to go home when Vic, 6, made a last dive into the pool. His arm is stuck in a pool filter. It took more than a quarter of an hour before he could be released. In a Portuguese hospital, he fights for his life
"The brain damage is great," said father Michael Wanzeele at the Flemish newspaper Het Laatste Nieuws. At the Lisbon Hospital, the boy has been in a coma for four days. "His condition is not good, but it is stable, which attracts us: it is not aggravated, every day we have it with us, a day has been won."
Tragic accident
because Vic plunged to the bottom. When he saw a hole, he was curious and put his arm in it. This hole turned out to be the input of a pool filter. The Vics arm was sucked up to the elbow.
The 10 year old son of a couple of friends saw him arrive and immediately called for help. Vick 's mother and the friendly couple plunged into the water and tried to clear the boy. But the suction was so great that it did not work. Two firefighters did not succeed either.
Door knocked
Eventually the firefighters broke the gazebo door with the installation of the filter, the device went out and Vic could be out of the water after more than fifteen minutes without oxygen
The next few days, more will be clear about the brain damage of Vics. "The most important thing is that we can keep our child," says Father Michael. "We will see how we have to adapt our lives to any permanent damage we will see later."

Michael thanks everyone on Facebook for all these sweet messages: "We need a miracle," he writes
