Burgemeester Breda wants to ban soccer hooligans

Mayor Paul Depla van Breda wants to ban any help on the ground for football fans who fought Sunday against the police after the draw between the NAC and Willem II. "I want to do something administrative, for example by distributing environmental bans", he said Monday morning at Omroep Brabant.

After the match, a few dozen supporters of the NAC wanted to attend the confrontation with those of Willem II. The mobile unit and mounted police officers had to keep the groups apart. In addition, two police officers were slightly injured. Five people were arrested, men aged 17 to 39 from Breda, Roosendaal and Oosterhout. The mayor summons hooligans who stand on the statues to signal them. "It's deep and deeply sad, when you see how raging they are, it really makes you angry, and as a football fan, you're ashamed," said the mayor. "These are people who are not supporters, but hooligans."
