The North Sea sailboat that asked for help last night is no longer wanted separately. However, in the daily flight by sea, the coastguards do "some further research along the coast".
What happened with the boat remains a mystery. The crew of the ship, probably with five people on board, called 112 last night at number 112. The connection was interrupted. Emergency services did not catch the boat afterwards.
The ship may have sunk, another scenario is that the emergency call was a fake message. Nobody was missing.
Great Area
The ship had sailed at the time of the emergency call on the North Sea, near Ouddorp, in the south of Holland. The people on board did not know their exact location and had to guess.
The Coast Guard then explored a large area. "The area was thoroughly searched yesterday," said Ron Corstanje, Coast Guard spokesman. Four lifeboats, two helicopters and a drone were deployed there. "If people wearing life jackets had entered the sea, we would have found them."
