Deadly accident tourist boat Thailand has risen to 33

Thai emergency services recovered 33 bodies after yesterday a tourist boat was moored at the island of Phuket. About 20 people are still missing, according to the Thai authorities. It is expected that the death toll will increase further.

The boat departed Phuket and capsized when it landed in a storm on the Andaman Sea, southwest of the Thailand. On board were 105 people: 93 tourists, a guide and 11 crew members.

The deadly victims are all Chinese. According to the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, there were no Dutch on board.

Another boat was knocked down

On the Andaman Sea yesterday, it was still a boat with tourists. Of these, 42 people were saved. On this boat were Chinese and European holidaymakers.

Thai authorities warned of extreme weather conditions such as heavy rains and strong gusts of wind until next Tuesday. As a result of these two accidents, the authorities will discuss the possibilities to prohibit boats from navigating in such dangerous weather conditions in the future.
