"Deployment of the Dutch Google Assistant will take days"

"We hope to complete the deployment in a few days," a Google spokesman told Bright. "On Android, you receive a message when the Google Assistant is there for you." The voice-activated assistant can be enabled on Android smartphones by holding down the home button (virtual) or saying "Hey Google".

Owners of iPhones need to install the Google Assistant app, but this one is not yet available for download in the Netherlands. Apple still has to approve the application, says Google. It may take a few days before the app is in the Dutch App Store.

Not yet on speakers and televisions

The Google Assistant is currently only for smartphones. The Google Home speakers, which work with the voice assistant, will officially arrive in the market in the Netherlands later this year. It will also be possible later this year to use the wizard on TVs with Android TV.
