Dutch Film Academy launches tribute to alumni Now

The Dutch Film Academy in Amsterdam gets a "Wall of Fame" in the foyer. Director Bart Römer announced Monday

This initiative is part of the festivities organized on the occasion of the sixtieth anniversary of the academy. "In the Netherlands, it is considered very unusual that you are proud of your students, but abroad, it is the most normal thing in the world," says Römer.

The first two pictures, made by Maarten Corbijn, are: Thursday afternoon unveiled. It concerns former students Frans Weisz (80) and Nouchka van Brakel (78)

"Both are students of the first group who have unequivocally earned their place in the world of cinema," says Römer. "In addition, 60 years ago, Frans Weisz was the first student to enroll in the Film Academy." Rooie Sien (1975), Charlotte (1981), Madness (1989) and The best time (1995).
