Cybersprint Security in The Hague studied 6,645 frequently visited sites with an .nl address. Of these, nearly 4,900 (more than 73%) have an HTTPS connection. Nearly eighteen hundred websites (about 27%) have an insecure connection or have not properly configured security.

Cybersprint has examined the sites among the top 1 million most visited .nl sites. Many large sites use a secure connection. In the top 100 Dutch, one site in seven had an unsecured connection.

Cynthia Schouten, Head of Information Security at Cybersprint

Cybersprint did not examine the different areas. "But in general, the financial world is at the forefront of security measures, and the national government is also well placed, but in the health sector, it is more concerned about security," says Schouten. with a new version of the commonly used Chrome browser. In this case, sites without HTTPS are clearly marked. Visitors will see a big red message on the photo.
