This is the second generation born in 1990. This group differs from the second generation born in 1980. Of the men and women of Turkish origin aged 80, 31% were married at age 21 against 9% in the 1990 generation. The percentage also decreased in the group of Moroccan origin.

Later, children

The second generation, born in 1990, not only gets married later, but also has children. Among the women born in 1990 of the three groups of Dutch, Turkish and Moroccan origin, about 5% had their 21st mother.

Among the Turkish women of 1980, they were 16% and Moroccan women 12%. At the age of 26, half of the women of Turkish origin born in 1980 were already mothers, compared to 28% in the younger generation.

Marriage with a person of the same background

Men and women from Turkish or Moroccan immigration usually marry someone from the same origin who was born in the Netherlands. For those who were married on the 26th, that was about 90%. This is slightly less than the 1980 generation.

The marital partner of the younger generation of Turks is, in 24% of the cases, a person born in the country of origin. With the 1980 generation, that represented 66%. With the Moroccan group, this percentage went from 70 to 29%.
