"Ecuador wants to get rid of Julian Assange"

Ecuador is on the verge of removing the asylum from Julian Assange and getting him out of the embassy in London. Sources at the Ecuadorian Ministry of Foreign Affairs told The Intercept

President Lenin Moreno has been in London since Friday and is negotiating an agreement with Great Britain. There is still a British arrest warrant against the Wikileaks founder. He is likely to be arrested as soon as he leaves the embassy.

Assange has been there since 2012. He asked for asylum to prevent extradition to Sweden, where an investigation into sexual abuse against him took place. This investigation was stopped last year, but the British still want to stop him because he violated the conditions of his bail.

Extradition

Assange is afraid that he will then be extradited to the United States. There, he is held responsible for the leak of many secret documents via Wikileaks.

Relations between Ecuador and Assange have been strained for some time. Earlier this year, the government banned him from having contact with the outside world any longer. In addition, his internet access was blocked. He would have violated the condition that he would not publish any message likely to affect Ecuador 's relations with other countries.
