The Belgian-Dutch film Girl was nominated among 51 films as Best European Film at the Seville European Film Festival. The director and screenwriter Lukas Dhont's first film, Lara (Victor Polster), aged about 15, was nominated for Best Actor. Her body does not work alone because she was born a child.
Girl was created in Cannes on May 12 and has already won several awards.
The 51 films come from 31 countries. Among this selection, more than three thousand members of the European Film Academy will select nominations for Best European Film categories, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Actress and Best Screenwriter in the coming weeks.
Best European cinematography, editing, production design, costume design, hair and makeup, music and sound design. The European prizes will be awarded on December 15th.
