Dutch football players can get closer to the World Cup on Friday night. The team of national coach Sarina Wiegman will start the final of the playoffs against Switzerland by a home match against De Galgenwaard (kickoff at 20:00). The stadium of FC Utrecht, where the Dutch started last year the success of the European Championship with a victory over Norway, was sold in half an hour.

Football players have left the opportunity to position themselves directly for the final world round next year in France. The Dutch team lost the last group match in qualifying for the World Cup in Norway and finished second in the group. Wiegman women are therefore tributary to the playoffs. In that, they eliminated Denmark last month by winning both matches. The last hurdle on the way to the World Cup is Switzerland, which enters Utrecht without stars Lara Dickenmann (injured) and Ramona Bachmann (suspended). Bachmann will be able to take part in the return leg in Schaffhausen on Tuesday.

Wiegman has to decide if he wants to stay ahead of Lineth Beerensteyn, who has scored three times against Denmark, or come back to Vivianne Miedema who is at Arsenal in a very good season.
