As Qualcomm arrives each year with a new, even more fantastic chipset for the new flagship smartphones, the chip maker does not seem to be as enthusiastic about smart watches. This year, Qualcomm has finally arrived with the long-awaited successor of the Snapdragon Wear 2100 processor, released almost three years ago. In any case, we now have the Wear 3100 chip and Fossil is using it immediately with a new smartwatch: the Fossil Sport.
Heart Rate Monitor, GPS and NFC
The Fossil Sport is, as its name suggests already, intended for sporty smartwatch users. The watch is also equipped with a heart rate monitor to monitor your heart rate, so you can see if there are improvements and your workouts are doing their job. In addition, the notebook also has built-in GPS support and you can use the watch to make NFC payments. In addition, the watch is also water resistant and you can also swim with it.
Up to two days of battery
As previously stated, the Fossil Sport is equipped with the chipset Qualcomms Wear 3100. This makes Sport the second smart watch with the new chipset. The first was the Montblanc Summit 2, which unfortunately exceeds the budget for most people with its price of nearly 1000 euros. Sport is a more reasonable price and costs you "only" about 225 euros. The new chipset also ensures that the smartwatch is much more economical. The battery should therefore at least use paper for more than 24 hours. In low power mode, it would be even two days.
Large Selection of Straps
In terms of variation, you have a lot of choices when you opt for the smart watch. First of all, you can choose from two different sizes of 41mm and 43mm. In addition, there are six different colors, namely gray, red, light blue, black, neon and blush. You finish with an assortment of several different straps, available in options of 18 mm and 22 mm.
The size of the Fossil Sport screen, the watchmaker seems for some reason, not (yet) free to want to give. What we do know is that the sport can be found in the store in America from November 12th. When he comes to Europe he is still unknown. In terms of specifications, the Fossil Sport is quite similar to the Fitbit Versa. It is a bit more expensive, but also features additional GPS functionality.
